Realism Tattoo in Ho Chi Minh City

Realism tattooing is more than reproducing a reference image. Each project is built around body placement, light, depth, contrast and how the composition will read once the tattoo has healed.

Realism Tattoo Studio works on portrait, Black & Grey, Color Realism and large multi-session projects in Ho Chi Minh City.

Specialist approach

Building a Realism Tattoo Around the Body

A reference image is only the starting point. Scale, focal point, negative space, light direction and the way the composition follows the body all affect the final result.

The goal is not to place every possible detail into the tattoo. It is to keep the details that create depth, clarity and a strong read at real viewing distance.

Selected work

Different Directions Within Realism

Realism can be developed through different palettes, materials and visual moods while keeping depth and readability at the centre of the composition.

Fresh & healed

A Tattoo Should Not Be Judged Only on the Day It Is Finished

Fresh photographs show the result immediately after tattooing. Healed photographs show a different kind of proof: how color, contrast and transitions settle after the skin has recovered.

Planning Larger Realism Projects

FAQ

Realism Tattoo Questions

Does a Realism tattoo have to be Black & Grey?

No. Realism can be developed in Black & Grey or color. The choice depends on the subject, composition and direction of the individual project.

How many sessions does a large Realism tattoo take?

There is no fixed number for every project. RT-001, a full outer-leg project, took 15 sessions. RT-023 took 5 sessions for the woman portrait and skull on the upper arm. These are project examples, not universal estimates.

Why do healed tattoo photos matter?

Fresh and healed photographs show different stages. Healed photographs help you evaluate the tattoo after the skin has settled. RT-008 includes a verified healed set photographed two years after the project.

Can an old tattoo be incorporated into a Realism cover-up?

Sometimes, but the existing tattoo needs to be assessed first. RT-008 is one verified example where an old feather tattoo was covered with a raven and integrated into a larger project.
